About Us

The Planner Pocket Podcast began with 2 planner girls hanging out, crafting together, and going out for lunch.

MJ and Candice became friends over their love of planners, self-development, and productivity. The Planner Pocket Podcast came out of conversing together about all these topics.

The point of the podcast is to include you into these conversations. It's meant to start conversations and connect the planner community in another way.

HEY LOVES! I’m Candice aka CandiPlans, the co-founder of The Planner Pocket Podcast. I have two children; a daughter named Jaina and a son named Jaimar.

I’ve been a part of the planner community since late 2014, by stumbling upon the community, trying to look for a better planner to keep up with my direct sells business.

I have always had a love for stationery, I even have a scar on her face from a clipboard—long-ish story. I’ve  used a planner since elementary school and to me, that was the best part of back-to-school—getting a new planner.

I currently work in healthcare, I have a respiratory therapy degree, but I’m currently pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree because I feel that I am able to do more to help POC with a BSN.

I have a registered nonprofit organization called W.E.L.L.—Women Enjoying Life Lavishly, Period, which I hope to have up and running by January 2021. MJ came up with the name of the nonprofit based on my goals for the company, which is to help women, especially women of color, care for themselves completely—Mind. Body. Spirit. More will be shared about the nonprofit later.

I was born in Southern California and I currently reside in the Midwest. I enjoy reading, crafting, planning, traveling, humanitarian activities, and being around happy people that enjoy living life. This year of being trying to enjoy more of the outdoors and gardening—thanks to a good friend in the planner community.

I am currently using a Hobonichi Weeks-Mega, with a jelly cover for personal planning and a classic Kikki K a5 planner for community and planner business relations. I do use stickers and washi in my spreads as a creative outlet.

I’d also like to add that I appreciate all of the friends/sisters that I’ve gained in this community.  I feel truly blessed by the love that I receive.

I’m Marquitta (mar-key-ta), I go by MJ. I’m an Enneagram 1, INTJ & I’m obsessed with the Enneagram & MBTI.

I’ve been in the planner community since late 2014/early 2015 after seeing planner set ups, planning routines, and LISSSSTTS. That’s when I was hooked. It reminded me of when I used to have those planners they give you in school for free. I used to color-code, put a few stickers, and when I had those planners I was sooo organized.

Around that time, my hubby and I had just moved from Michigan to Kansas City so I didn’t have many friends. I joined a planner swap buddies FB group and made so many amazing friends. We all used to send letters to each other randomly and on each other’s birthdays. It was so awesome!

I’m currently a therapist, and about to go back to school for my PhD this fall. I love pink as you guys may know, and I love planning with a purpose. I love planning trips, goals, and challenges. I want adventure and happiness in my life, and I use my planner to intentionally make those things happen.

I’m grateful that over the years, God and the therapy process has helped me regulate and deal with my ish, so I can have an easier time recognizing happiness and enjoy life fully! I love this community, and I want us to encourage each other. Toxicity is no good for anyone, so let’s be healthy and happy friends. 😊
